WHITE NOISE, IMMERSIVE INSTILLATION, 2015

Collaboration: nicole monks and amala groom

@ the dogleg tunnel, cockatoo island

Transforming the Dogleg Tunnel on Cockatoo Island, White Noise utilised sounds collected from manmade and natural objects found on the island to create an immersive environment of light and sound, symbolising a cultural and political portal between two worlds. Informed by de-colonising processes, 'White Noise' will explore the intersection of Aboriginal and colonial worldviews, using the aural and the sensory to create a transformative experience.
